The goal of this web site is to push the envelope on what it means to design a particular space. Every month we try to focus on a particular "room" and break it down into its main functions in order to reinvent or reassign that function to an unconventional or salvaged object.

This concept not only frees the designer (you) to truly make your space unique to your style and taste, but also by reintroducing non-uniform items and materials, the cost of designing a particular space can usually be reduced significantly.

The parameters with which this web site tries to design is as follows:
-All objects are local and readily available
-All objects are reasonable in terms of cost
-Salvaged objects are used when appropriate
-Any assembly needs to be as easy a possible

As the creators of this web site we openly admit that we have no formal education whatsoever. We are not accredited. We belong to no clubs or organizations of the interior design persuasion. That being said, we have lived in houses, apartments and various other dwellings, so, as far as designing a space goes, we are in the same boat as you. We just thought we would rock that boat a little.

So feel free to look at our ideas and glean as much (useful?) information as you want. Any questions, comments or criticism can be emailed to info@misguidedspaces.com. Thank you for your interest.

WE GO LIVE

Because of spacial constraints of the residential and office persuasion, all of the decorating ideas for this site have been presented as illustrations. Although, in some cases that will still be the case, I am proud to announce that we here at misguided spaces, have finally obtained our own, actual misguided space.

Please enjoy the use of photos mixed with the illustrations, and join us on our journey, as we feed our sick addiction for dilapidated old buildings.
